Q & A

It’s good to ask questions. We’ll get you the answers you seek.
Still wondering about something? Contact us and ask.

What is the client like? What are his medical issues?

Check the About the Client, Typical Duties, and Testimonials pages. We can’t provide medical diagnoses because of HIPAA and other privacy concerns, but we can share that the client is well-liked and has only physical, not intellectual, limitations.

Are we ever required to work weekends or extra shifts?

No. We don’t interfere with your private life. You’re only required to show up for the shifts you’ve agreed to. Anything else is on us to figure out, not you.

Is this job suitable for a student? Can I study?

Yes. You get to choose how you spend your downtime, which is often well in excess of 75% of a shift. We have supported many dozens of students in pursuing their degrees with great success. As long as you can stop what you’re doing when you are needed, it’s all good.

Am I required to transport the client? What vehicle do I use?

No. Currently, the client’s family handles transportation.

Can I sleep during overnight shifts?

Sorry, no. You can relax, but you need to be alert and able to help if needed. One exception: for our 3 a.m. to 7 or 8 a.m. shifts, you may arrive early and sleep undisturbed until your shift.

Is the client prone to violent outbursts?

The client is the exact opposite of violent, and anger is not part of his personality. His challenges are entirely physical; there are zero cognitive, emotional, or behavioral issues.
